About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Through Care Team as an Advanced Practitioner. In this role, you will hold complex cases as well as have a specialism in an agreed area of practice. You will provide coaching, mentoring, and training to your colleagues, support colleagues to address challenging areas of practice and support the managers in the day to day operation of the team.
About The Team You’ll Be Working In
Hounslow Children’s Services are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Advanced Practitioner to join our Through Care team. The team works with Looked After Children and Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children. We promote relationship-based practice and work with families and other professionals to achieve permanence and support independence. Direct work and hearing the child\\\'s voice is essential in our work.
The London Borough of Hounslow Through Care Team is a vibrant, dedicated and stable and supportive team with five experienced managers and 15 social workers. Social workers in the team have manageable caseloads that allow them to do meaningful work with the children and young people.
Ofsted said that social workers in Hounslow are very motivated and they are working hard to get the best outcomes for children. Social workers told inspectors that they feel well supported by their line managers and have regular supervision and access to training.
About You

- You must be able to work as part of a team, be approachable and excellent at communication.
- Considerable experience within statutory social work, working with Looked After Children and have a specialist interest area that you are knowledgeable and passionate about.
- Good IT and organisational skills, managing multiple demands at any one time.
- The ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with the multi-agency network.
- Ability to provide supervision to less experienced staff and undertake quality assurance functions
- At least 4 years’ experience as a child and family social worker and experience of mentoring and supporting others to improve their practice
- Enhanced DBS check is required.
