This is a pivotal role at the heart of the borough’s commitment to preventing and tackling Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG). The post holder will develop and lead the delivery of a borough-wide VAWG Strategy, ensuring it aligns with the Community Safety Strategy, Community Safety Delivery Plan and transport safety priorities. This position is fixed term, with a duration of up to 4 years. Working across statutory, voluntary and community sector partners, the role will drive prevention, early intervention and victim-centred responses. You will use data, community insight and partnership intelligence to identify patterns, gaps in provision and barriers to reporting, translating this into targeted action and measurable improvements in safety, confidence and reporting. The role also leads cross-border and regional collaboration, recognising that VAWG does not stop at borough boundaries.
About You
You will be a motivated and collaborative professional with a strong commitment to tackling Violence Against Women and Girls. You will bring:
- Experience of working within community safety, VAWG, safeguarding or a closely related field
- A proven ability to build and influence partnerships across statutory, voluntary and community sectors
- Strong analytical skills, with experience using data and insight to shape strategy and service delivery
- An understanding of victim-centred and trauma-informed approaches
- Confidence working across organisational and geographical boundaries, including regional and pan-London partnerships
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage communities, senior stakeholders and front-line practitioners
- The ability to manage competing priorities, funding requirements and complex partnership landscapes
