Role: Family Group Conference Coordinator Grade 5

If so, we want you to join our dedicated team as a Family Group Conference Coordinator within the Starting Well, Early Help & Targeted Family Support service.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and facilitate Family Group Conferences and reviews, empowering families from diverse backgrounds to make positive decisions for their children.
  • Work collaboratively with children, families, and partner agencies to prepare, support, and guide everyone through the Family Group Conferencing process.
  • Plan, coordinate and evaluate conferences, ensuring every child’s voice is heard and their outcomes are improved.
  • Contribute to service development, helping shape Havering’s Family Group Conferencing Service and implementation of Family Group Decision Making across the Directorate.
  • Work flexibly both inside and outside the borough, sometimes outside normal office hours, to meet the needs of families.

You will be the ideal candidate if you have the following:

  • A professional qualification in health, education, social care, or a related field.
  • Family Group Conference qualification (or a willingness to undertake training).
  • At least 3 years’ experience working with children and families in a relevant setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to manage complex family dynamics.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and confidentiality in all aspects of your work.
  • Confidence to work independently, including lone working in family homes and various community settings.
