We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Centre Support Advisor to join Havering Adult College. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting learners, promoting our courses, and ensuring the smooth day‑to‑day operation of our centres.


As a Centre Support Advisor, you will be at the heart of the learner journey, providing information, guidance and administrative support while helping create a welcoming and professional environment for everyone who visits our centres. You will collaborate closely with learners, teachers and managers, ensuring excellent customer service and supporting the delivery of high‑quality adult education provision.

What You'll Be Doing



  • Providing a friendly and professional front‑line service to learners, visitors, and members of the public

  • Responding to enquiries face‑to‑face, by telephone and email, providing accurate information and guidance

  • Promoting and marketing the College’s courses and learning opportunities through events and learner engagement activities

  • Supporting enrolment processes, fee assessments, discounts, and learner documentation

  • Processing payments, refunds, invoices and maintaining accurate financial records

  • Providing administrative support to managers and teaching staff

  • Opening and closing centres, including operating security and alarm systems

  • Assisting with room preparation and ensuring teaching spaces are ready for learning

  • Supporting quality assurance, safeguarding and health and safety processes

  • Maintaining accurate learner records and inputting data onto college systems

  • Supporting marketing activities, learner surveys, and social media engagement as required



About You



  • Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

  • Experience of working in a customer‑facing environment

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills

  • Ability to work independently and use initiative within established procedures

  • Experience of handling financial transactions accurately

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and other digital systems

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work flexibly

  • Commitment to delivering a high‑quality service to learners and stakeholders

  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required

  • Ability to travel between College sites where necessary


Experience within an education or training environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
