Overview

We are seeking to recruit permanent Contracts, Procurement and Information Lawyers to join our team at HB Public Law (HBPL). You will undertake varied, high-quality work with likeminded and supportive colleagues who are committed to public service and excellent client care.

HB Public Law is one of the country’s leading shared local authority legal practices between a number of Northwest London and out of London boroughs; it is Lexcel accredited, and we pride ourselves on delivering a high-quality service. Staff are employed by Harrow Council but work for a number of public sector clients.

About You

The successful candidate will carry a full caseload and will:

  • Provide advice and manage contract and procurement legal cases.
  • Draft and negotiate commercial contracts including construction contracts and service contracts and advise on contract disputes.
  • Support corporate projects working in multi-disciplinary teams and advise on governance issues.
  • Advise senior officers and councillors.
  • Advise on public procurement in the context of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and the Procurement Act 2023.
  • Advise on data protection and freedom of information, both in the context of contracts and generally.

You will be required to pick up a caseload from the outset and successful candidates must have experience in conducting commercial contract work.
