About the role
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Officer within the Brokerage Payments Team. You will be working knowledge of the Councils finance/payment systems. The successful candidate will be working closely with providers and Adult Social Care service to ensure accurate and timely payments across all Adult Social Care services.
As a Senior Officer, this role acts as a deputy to the Payments Manager reviewing and processing outgoing payments, assisting with the development of the team to ensure targets are met and financial controls are maintained. The role involves supporting providers regularly with training around the Councils invoicing and scheduled payment system, resolving complex payment queries, processing ad hoc payments and payment reconciliations.
The successful candidate will seek to improve systems and business processes in conjunction with other departments and be a point of guidance to the wider service promoting good practice around financial processes. More importantly, to meet challenging objectives of a service that helps to maximise independence of service users and collaborate with managers across other parts of the Council to continually improve service delivery.

About you
This role requires strong working knowledge of ContrOCC Social Care finance system, as well as SAP finance systems and Excel. The successful candidate will work pro-actively with colleagues across the wider directorate, sharing knowledge and expertise around financial processes confidently. Liaising with stakeholders to effectively resolve complex queries in a timely manner.
You will possess leadership skills required to act as a deputy for the payments team manager, contributing towards overall team targets and objectives and have the ability to undertake quality checks of financial procedures to ensure accuracy and monitor timely performance. Development of KPI and reporting tools to improve service delivery. Knowledge of the core business of the service and of the relevant legislation concerning Social care and safeguarding vulnerable adults is very important. You will need to successfully maintain relationships with external care providers ultimately improving the experience for providers and residents.
