About the role To work with the following service user groups: physical disabilities, mental health, and learning disabilities and paediatrics. To assess service users with complex care needs, recommend equipment and or major adaptations to promote and improve independence. Manual handling assessments to reduce risks to the service user and carers. The role will allow you to join an experienced and motivated team who work closely and collaboratively with internal and external services to provide a holistic approach to assessment and care plans. The successful candidate will join a positive and supportive team, who actively support CPD and service development, and regularly receive individual supervision, peer supervision, and multi-agency discussions. The role assists /supports surrounding teams such as housing, the social work team and the adaptation team following the Occupational Therapist completion of robust reports detailing the housing needs of our residents, the care needs of our resident and also the adaptation needs. You will be a qualified Occupational Therapist and registered with the Health Care Professions Council. You will be expected to understand the legislation relevant to the role; including, but not limited to. Care Act 2014 Mental Capacity Act 2005 Disabled facilities Grant Build Regulations – Part M Children and Families Act 2014 MHRA Guidance and developments You will need: Excellent assessment skills to manage a caseload of adults and children of varied complexity. To be able to establish and maintain links with professionals from other services and sectors of the community. A commitment to continued learning and professional development. To be willing to contribute to the smooth running of the team and support with team development. To be familiar with the assistance and running of a duty Occupational therapy system including ad-hoc visits where necessary. To be able to complete robust assessments and support plans which are clinically reasoned. Be able to demonstrate clear and concise written communication skills which will be demonstrated in assessments, support plans and moving and handling risk assessments
