About the role

To be a member of an estate-mobile caretaking and deep cleaning team under the direction of the Estate Services Management Team, to carry out detailed deep cleaning of housing blocks/estates, keeping the estate in a clean, tidy, and hygienic condition, immediately reporting, and making safe any hazards. To have a good awareness of all relevant Council policies and the needs and general well-being of residents on the estate (especially the needs of disadvantaged and vulnerable groups) and to take reasonable steps to promote the enjoyment of amenities by tenants, Leaseholders and their families.

The ideal candidate for this job should have prior experience in using cleaning materials and equipment and identifying repairs. They should have the ability to write simple memos, letters, and simple reports. Effective communication skills are a must-have at all levels, and the candidate should have the ability to deal helpfully and tactfully with all tenants and residents. The candidate should be able to work independently and as a team member, with a basic knowledge of maintenance and cleaning equipment. Basic handy person skills such as manual handling and electrical awareness are desirable, as is an awareness of the needs of vulnerable groups in the local community. Demonstrating commitment to equalities in employment and service provision is essential, along with an understanding of Council policy on equalities and safeguarding.
