About the role

At Hammersmith & Fulham, we are ambitious in reforming the council to ensure this is a place for everybody. Within the Economy department, we aim to be efficient in everything that we do. We believe our residents deserve a place that is safe, clean and green, with high quality services they can rely on.

Hammersmith & Fulham Adult Learning & Skills Service is looking for a Programme Leader for Creative Arts, Crafts and Performing Arts (CACPA) — someone who believes in the power of creativity to change lives and wants to help adult learners build confidence, skills and new possibilities. This is a hands-on, people-centred role where you’ll teach, lead, inspire and shape a dynamic creative programme that reflects our communities and opens doors for learners at every stage of their journey.

You’ll split your time between teaching, leading tutors, and developing the creative curriculum, therefore you will:

  • Teach across creative arts, crafts and performing arts, using engaging and inclusive approaches
  • Support and line manage sessional tutors, helping them grow and do their best work
  • Shape and develop courses that respond to learners’ needs and local priorities
  • Champion high quality teaching, learning and assessment across the programme
  • Support recruitment, interviews and progression for learners
  • Keep an eye on what’s working (and what’s not), using data to improve outcomes
  • Play an active role in observations, quality improvement and Ofsted readiness
  • Get involved in open days, celebrations, events and promoting our creative offer

You’ll work closely with the Programme Manager and wider team, contributing ideas, energy and leadership to the service. We are looking for an experienced adult education professional with a creative background and a collaborative leadership style. You enjoy balancing big picture thinking with day-to-day delivery, and you care deeply about learners, staff and quality.

Our mission is to be the best council. To do this we need the best people to help build our vision. If you’re looking to develop your career in a fast-paced, professional environment whilst making a difference, then we look forward to hearing from you.

Closing date: 12 July 2026

Interview date: Week Commencing 20 July 2026
