Repairs & Maintenance is responsible for the upkeep of approx 33,000 homes and our building maintenance department has made significant changes and improvements to the way it carries out repairs and maintenance to these homes. We now require an exceptional storekeeper for our materials supply and stock control operation in support of the building maintenance department.
This is an exciting time to be joining the London Borough Of Hackney’ Repairs & Maintenance department. The organisation has undergone a major transformation which has resulted in a stand alone direct labour department being created, which is viable, focussed on service delivery and providing high levels of customer satisfaction.
We now require someone with exceptional storekeeping and stock control abilities who will help drive the section forward, make a difference and ensure that our building materials are managed effectively in providing a first class service for both our residents and leaseholders.
Ideally, you are a storekeeper or materials officer with solid experience in stock control and the management of building materials, who is both self motivated and can work effectively as part of a team.
You should have significant experience of working in a materials supply and stock control environment, together with good computer skills offering the ability to both interrogate and effectively operate an IT stock management system.
You will work as part of the stores team in both sourcing and providing building materials for our workforce and you will need to be organised, methodical and possess good communication skills
