12 Month Fixed Term Contract / Secondment Opportunity

At Hackney Council we have an ambitious vision to make the borough fairer and safer, greener and healthier and a great place for every child to grow up. To help deliver that vision, we are recruiting a Project Manager who will work on managing and delivering a range of key projects across the Children’s Emotional Health and Wellbeing Portfolio. This role will lead projects to build and develop our services, with a focus on early intervention and prevention in children’s emotional health and wellbeing. This work will be underpinned by a commitment to co‑production and resident voice.

This role will be based within the Emotional Health and Wellbeing Team (Children and Education Directorate), and will interact with residents (children, young people and adults), departments and a range of services both inside and beyond the council, including Health, Education, Social Care and the Community and Voluntary Sector. Our work is underpinned by a commitment to integrated working to secure the best outcomes for children and families, and informed by our Children and Young People’s Emotional Health and Wellbeing Strategy. We bring together health, education, social care and VCS partners to work as one, ensuring every child gets the right help, at the right time, in the right way.

Who are we looking for?

You will have strong experience of project management in the public sector, working with a range of stakeholders to co‑produce and implement improvements which deliver positive outcomes for children and young people. You will ideally have experience of managing projects related to one or more of the following: children’s social care, health, education, and ideally in a context of integrated or joint working across sectors. You may be an organisational powerhouse, a natural relationship builder, a strategic thinker or a creative problem‑solver. Whatever your background, you are driven by a relentless desire to make things better for children. You will be curious, brave, and believe in the power of collaboration. An Enhanced DBS Check is required for this role.
