About the Council

Hackney Council has an ambitious vision to make the borough fairer, safer, greener, healthier and a great place for children to grow. The Cross‑Council Transformation Programme delivers improved services for residents across the council.

Role Overview

The Project Manager will lead change management and adoption activities across the Corporate Transformation Programme, ensuring new processes are embedded and benefits realised.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver and monitor a portfolio of projects, ensuring timely completion and alignment with council objectives.
  • Champion change management practices to embed new processes and safeguard benefits.
  • Develop project plans, budgets, risk registers and status reports for senior leadership.
  • Engage stakeholders across council services to secure commitment and support.
  • Communicate progress and challenges effectively through written and verbal channels.

Requirements

  • Experience in a project or change management role within a local government environment.
  • Strong knowledge of project management frameworks (PRINCE2, PMP or Agile).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining high quality and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
