Position Overview: 12‑Month Fixed‑Term Contract / Secondment Opportunity (Part‑time 21.8 hours per week). This role operates a Mobile CCTV Van within Hackney Parking Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive and operate a mobile CCTV van across Hackney enforcing School Streets, prohibition of motor vehicles and other restrictions.
- Carry out statutory duties of a Civil Enforcement Officer under the Traffic Management Act 2004, monitoring moving traffic, bus lanes, and parking contraventions via CCTV.
- Attend back‑office CCTV control rooms for manual and unattended ANPR processing, and perform related administrative functions such as processing CCTV scheme permits and logs.
- Work part‑time in a 5‑day pattern with 7.2 hours per day plus one hour lunch, providing four consecutive days off every four weeks.
- Maintain a varied caseload, communicate with residents and partner services, and resolve conflicts while ensuring positive outcomes.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid Category B driving licence.
- Successful DBS check required.
- Excellent communication, networking and organisational skills.
- Problem‑solving ability and demonstration of a 'can‑do' ethos.
- Experience working in an agile context and from CCTV control rooms (training provided for parking enforcement).
- Ability to operate within a rotating shift schedule (6 am–midnight, public holidays included).
- Willingness to attend the office regularly (limited remote working).
