The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 € per year.

This role is predominantly 0900 – 1700, Monday to Friday. There is an expectation that the candidate will work some weekends where there is an operational need.

Location: 136-142 Lower Clapton Road, and various locations in the Borough. Hackney Parking Services are often leading the way in the parking industry with the main focus on best practices and performance. Hackney Council has managed to be the number one borough in Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) appeals for two years running. Hackney was one of the first Councils in the country to implement School Streets and Ultra Low Emission Zones – all of which are enforced by the parking enforcement team.

Recently, the Council has brought in-house the parking enforcement operations after over two decades of the service being outsourced. An amazing opportunity has arisen to recruit into brand new positions that will be pivotal in creation, delivery and implementation of the newly insourced parking enforcement service.

Responsibilities

  • In this challenging and rewarding role, you will have the necessary communication and networking skills to work directly with residents and key partnering services.
  • You will manage a varied caseload and collaborate with others to address support needs and achieve positive outcomes.
  • You will undertake detailed investigations: visiting sites, inspecting vehicles, gathering evidence and preparing statements and attending court.
  • You will also support the service in tackling all types of nuisance vehicles and make referrals for the relevant departments of any other linked anti-social behaviour.
  • You will be required to work in partnership with the Metropolitan Police Service and other enforcement agencies.
  • You should be a confident communicator, able to handle sensitive issues and be ready to deal with confrontational behaviour.
  • You will be required to prioritise your own workload, identify and mitigate risk and ensure performance targets are met.
  • Experience of using electronic case management systems and a variety of other software is advantageous.
  • Some roles will require regular attendance at Court and a working knowledge of nuisance vehicle legislation and other relevant law; training on the job will be provided.

Qualifications and requirements

  • Experience or knowledge and understanding of dealing with anti-social behaviour or nuisance vehicles, early intervention and the necessary tools and powers, preferably within a public sector background.
  • To thrive in this role, you will be required to work in partnership with the Metropolitan Police Service and other enforcement agencies.
  • You must be a confident communicator, able to handle sensitive issues and be ready to deal with confrontational behaviour.
  • This post will require an SIA Door Supervisor certification.
  • You will be required to successfully pass security vetting through DBS checks level to be considered for this post.
  • Due to the nature of the role, you should be prepared to work across multiple cases and assess risk while meeting performance targets.
