10 Months Fixed Term Contract / Secondment Opportunity. This is a hybrid role requiring you to be in the office for a minimum of 2 days per week. This role will be based at 136-142 Lower Clapton Road, E5 0QD. Hackney is a dynamic and progressive local authority in the UK, with strong, diverse communities and a values-driven approach. Responsibilities

  • Design and print consultation documents within agreed timescales.
  • Continuously improve service performance to meet changing customer demands and ensure accuracy (get it right first time).
  • Collect, handle and analyse large amounts of information and present it to varied audiences (including numerical data).
  • Respond to queries from residents with excellent communication, build relationships with other Council departments, and investigate complex queries to provide fair outcomes across all channels.
  • Understand and use IT packages, including Google G Suite, and interpret consultation feedback.
  • Manage and prioritise competing demands, meet tight deadlines, and handle contentious issues effectively.
  • Write high-quality reports for audiences including Councillors and senior managers.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience delivering excellent customer service and working in a pressurised environment.
  • Strong planning and prioritisation abilities with a flexible, proactive approach to workload management.
  • Experience in collecting, analysing and presenting information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to deal with diverse communities and queries by email and phone.
  • Good IT literacy with experience of Google G Suite and the ability to interpret consultation feedback.
  • Experience writing high-quality reports for Councillors and senior managers.
