An exciting opportunity is available within the Corporate Building Maintenance & Compliance Team for the role of Health & Safety Compliance Officer. Corporate Building Maintenance & Compliance is a dynamic multifaceted team of four separate teams, including Compliance, Technical Services (multidisciplinary), Contract Management and Cost Consultancy. Your role within this team will be to support the Corporate Maintenance & Compliance Manager in performing a collaborative function across the four teams. This is a fulfilling and challenging role, especially as it promises an opportunity to learn new skills and information on a diverse number of multidisciplinary areas. The Corporate estate comprises around 600 properties, including buildings in various sectors, including commercial offices, libraries, community halls, temporary accommodation and the voluntary sector. This does not include housing properties.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Apply knowledge of planned and reactive maintenance and statutory compliance to coordinate, lead and manage the support aspects of the built environment.
- Provide specialist and generalist administrative assistance to support effective service delivery.
- Work closely with a variety of stakeholders throughout the Council.
- Travel across the borough to various properties and conduct on-site compliance audits.
Qualifications:
- Hold, or be currently working towards, a NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and IOSH Membership. Evidence of these will be required in the short-listing process.
- Possess an Enhanced DBS check.
