12 Months Fixed Term Contract / Secondment Opportunity
Hackney Council’s newly integrated Employment, Skills and Adult Learning Service is seeking to recruit an ESOL Curriculum Manager to join our curriculum team. This is an exciting opportunity to join our hard working and successful team to provide a high-quality provision of teaching to our learners and residents.
Responsibilities
The role includes leading and managing the ESOL curriculum team and working to develop a responsive and inclusive adult learning curriculum offer in line with Council priorities. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the operational delivery of ESOL as well as managing the quality of the curriculum and day‐to‐day management of tutors.
Qualifications
The ESOL curriculum manager should have experience of managing online delivery and/or blended learning and should hold at least a Level 5 Teaching qualification plus relevant subject specialisms. Experience of teaching and managing ESOL is essential. It would be an advantage to have experience of working with learners from low levels of English as well as those who have a good command of English. You will need to demonstrate the ability to work in a diverse community setting and experience of supporting learners with diverse needs is essential. A good understanding of the Ofsted Inspection Framework within a Post 16 Education setting is essential.

The successful applicant will be self‑motivated, organised and have the ability to develop and maintain relationships with a wide range of people. A positive attitude is essential, as is a willingness to work flexibly and to be creative.
