Hackney is one of the UK’s highest performing local authorities, serving one of London’s best places to live and work. We have achieved a huge amount: our services, our schools, our public spaces are all amongst the very best. We have changed the reputation, not just of the Council, but of Hackney itself. Bringing jobs and investment into the borough, securing the legacy from the 2012 Games, and making this a place of which we can all be proud.
Hackney Council is undertaking an ambitious programme of regeneration across a number of housing estates and sites across the borough. We aim to transform places by building new neighbourhoods with well-designed housing, streets and public spaces. The programme is building more than 3,000 new homes over the next 10 years and will deliver much needed new council rented, shared ownership and outright sale homes across Hackney. Strategy, Assurance & Private Sector Housing is a highly skilled multi-disciplinary service that provides specialist support and leads on bespoke portfolios across the Regeneration, Economy & Housing Development division.
The Council is looking for a Commercial Sales & Lettings Advisor with a strong background in the new homes sector for both affordable and open-market homes, to join its small team. This is a varied and hands-on role covering the full spectrum of commercial sales and lettings - from lead generation and client engagement to conducting viewings, assessing applications and managing the completion process.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the affordable/intermediate and/or open market sector, with a solid understanding of both development and legal procedures. You’ll need to be proactive, customer focused and confident in managing internal and external stakeholders across a busy portfolio. You must be able to form strong working relationships with colleagues, contractors and potential customers in order to influence and provide clear advice throughout the delivery and marketing phases.
As a Council, our most outstanding asset is our staff, who are highly dedicated to serving our residents and committed to our goals as an organisation.
