Hackney Education provides a range of services to support the education of children, young people and adults in our inner London borough. Hackney is one of the UK's highest performing local authorities, serving one of London's best places to live and work. Within our diverse borough, we serve a wide range of children and young people, with a particular focus on supporting less advantaged families.
Hackney Education's key priority is to improve the life chances of every child, young person and learner, making Hackney the most forward-looking education system in the UK, where schools, settings and partners provide an exciting environment that ensures inclusion and success for everyone.
We are looking for a passionate Children and Family Hubs Implementation Lead to be responsible for the mobilisation of the programme, the development and delivery of new projects, and to measure success and develop action plans to meet the requirements of the Family Hub Model Framework. The candidate will also develop integrated ways of working with a range of partners and robust information sharing agreements.
The hubs provide a wide range of services to families, from the first days of pregnancy until their children reach the age of 19, or 25 for young people with special needs and disabilities (SEND). They will work in partnership to offer integrated support services to meet families' social care, early years education, and health needs.
This is a key role driving and contributing project work towards the development of Children & Family Hubs and transformation of service delivery, ensuring Hackney families, children and young people aged 0-19 (up to 25 with SEND) can access the support they need, when they need it.
Areas of work or projects include:
- Working directly with senior officers - relationship and stakeholder management and partnership development and collaboration at a senior level (across multiple directorates and partner agencies)
- To take responsibility for and lead on allocated project work ensuring that it is of the highest quality and responsive to local needs
- To organise work processes to deliver responsibilities on time, on budget and to agreed quality standards
- To contribute to the efficient operation of Children & Family Hubs programme and projects by providing project support - such as scheduling meetings, taking minutes, recording and tracking actions, and providing operational support
- Contribute to the commissioning of services and managing stakeholder relationships
- To produce research, data analysis, and briefing documents
- Apply in depth understanding of delivering change to project manage implementation projects and programme workstreams, including working with the family hubs and children's centres to mobilise the services
- Chairing and facilitating meetings, briefings and workshops as required
- Evidence based decision making - produce research, data analysis, business cases and briefing documents
- Ability to carry out complex data analysis of strategic trends, issues and insight and using this to provide advice and responses
The post holder may be responsible for undertaking wider project support within the Children & Family Hubs development programme. This position is well supported within a broader team, with excellent training and support provided. We are looking for an applicant who is willing to get stuck in, learn and deliver outstanding service.
PRINCE2, AGILE, or other project management qualifications will be advantageous, but they are not essential for your application.
We are also working towards our vision, which is to be a place for everyone; where residents and staff can be proud; a place that celebrates diversity and where everyone can feel valued, included and involved. In order to achieve this, we look for people who are: Proud; Ambitious; Pioneering; Open; Proactive; Inclusive.
Hackney Council works to eradicate discrimination on the basis of race, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, pregnancy and maternity, age and marital status. We also recognise that people can be disadvantaged by their social and economic circumstances, so we will also work to eliminate discrimination and disadvantage caused by social class. We particularly welcome applications from disabled people and people from a black and global majority background as these groups are currently underrepresented in our workforce.
