What You’ll Be Doing

We are recruiting for Children and Young People’s Specialist Health Improvement Practitioner for 12 months to cover a period of maternity leave. The role works across schools, Family Hubs, early years and other community settings to promote and improve children’s health and wellbeing. You will manage health improvement practitioners and take a lead in the development, delivery and evaluation of evidence-based health improvement programmes.

The role works at an operational and strategic level, with an increasing focus on embedding child health equity principles into frontline delivery. You will provide strategic advice and expertise to the wider Health and Wellbeing Department on CYP health promotion and improvement and support the drive to improve food and nutrition in schools within Camden’s Food Mission and Healthy Weight Acceleration Plan. The postholder will report into the CYP Health Improvement Lead.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.

All About You

We are seeking an individual with direct experience of each of the following areas:

  • Theoretical understanding and practical delivery experience of children and young people’s health improvement principles
  • Delivering training and support within schools and early years settings
  • Working across multiple settings and Pan London to develop, deliver and embed CYP health and wellbeing strategies and programmes
  • Proven line management experience of staff working in direct delivery health improvement roles
  • Experience of matrix and cross portfolio working
