About the role
To promote, encourage and support the continued independence and well-being of the sheltered housing tenants by identifying, enabling and meeting the necessary housing and support needs. To assess, review and respond to ongoing support and housing needs of sheltered housing tenants appropriately. The role will develop and maintain constructive relationships with sheltered tenants, carers, partners, service providers and anyone from the wider community that is involved with the sheltered schemes and tenants. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.
All About You
We are looking for a compassionate, proactive and customer-focused individual who is passionate about supporting older people and vulnerable adults to live independently and thrive within their communities. You will have experience of working with older people or vulnerable adults in either a paid or voluntary capacity and understand the importance of delivering services that place residents at the heart of everything you do. You will have a good understanding of safeguarding principles and how they apply within a sheltered housing environment. Knowledge of welfare benefits and the ability to support residents in maximising their income where appropriate will be an advantage. You will be committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion, recognising and responding to the needs of residents from a wide range of ethnic, cultural and social backgrounds. You will be confident working on your own initiative, managing a varied workload and balancing competing priorities, while responding appropriately to emergencies and unforeseen situations in line with agreed procedures. You will also demonstrate a strong commitment to health and safety, ensuring that residents live in a safe and supportive environment.
