The role
We’re looking for an experienced Service and Repair Engineer to join Camden’s in-house team. You’ll carry out essential servicing, diagnostics, and repair work across our social housing portfolio – making sure heating, hot water, and gas systems remain safe, compliant, and fully functional.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll work directly with residents, supporting them with clear communication, excellent service, and guidance on the safe use of their systems.
What you’ll do
- Carry out annual safety checks and servicing in line with legislation.
- Diagnose and repair faults in boilers, pipework, heating controls, and renewable technologies.
- Complete emergency and routine maintenance tasks quickly and safely.
- Provide excellent customer service and clear communication to residents.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, servicing, and compliance certificates.
- Escalate gas safety risks or safeguarding concerns appropriately.
- Support Camden’s energy efficiency and sustainability goals.
About you
We’re looking for someone who combines technical excellence with a resident-first approach. You’ll have:
- At least 5 years’ experience in domestic heating servicing and maintenance.
- Strong diagnostic and repair skills for heating systems.
- Good understanding of gas safety legislation and landlord compliance.
- ACS qualifications including:
- CCN1 (Core Domestic Gas Safety)
- CENWAT (Boilers & Water Heaters)
- CKR1 (Cookers)
- HTR1 (Gas Fires)
- CPA1 (Combustion Performance Analysis)
- Excellent communication and record-keeping skills.
- The ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and deliver high-quality results.
Desirable:
- Experience working in social housing.
- Training with boiler manufacturers or renewable technologies (e.g. air source heat pumps).
- Experience supporting vulnerable residents.
- Confidence using digital job reporting tools.
