About Camden: Camden is building somewhere everyone can thrive, by making our borough the best place to live, work, study and visit. Because we’re not just home to the UK’s fast-growing economy. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today. And we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind.

A key part of our Digital and Data Services (DDS) department, our Technology Service provides secure, innovative, efficient, and scalable technology solutions that empower our Staff and our Citizens. We are a team of collaborators and knowledge sharers working in an agile, fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Be Doing / How You’ll Be Involved: As a Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer, you will work closely with the team lead, focusing on supporting and maintaining the network, as well as implementing projects and solutions following best practices and standards. You will also be expected to collaborate with other infrastructure teams such as Cloud and EUC and support junior members in your team. You will play a key role in ensuring our critical network infrastructure is optimised for security, high availability, and disaster recovery. You will collaborate with the Information Security Team to ensure compliance with ISO27001, PCI-DSS, and PCN standards. This position offers the opportunity to design, secure, and implement new cloud platforms and systems, providing a robust network for our staff and residents. You’ll work as part of a team of infrastructure specialists and engineers focusing on delivering infrastructure service that underpins our services, including Azure, AWS and on-premises technology.

All About you: Camden is on a journey to transform our digital experiences through the use of cloud technology. As a Network Infrastructure Engineer, you will focus on designing, implementing and supporting Camden’s corporate network. You will stay up to date with the latest technology offerings, both cloud and on-premises, as well as best practice for configuration and monitoring. You will be an experienced problem solver who can work on your initiative and with others to identify creative and innovative solutions. You will also be adaptable and flexible in your approach to work and have excellent organisational skills to manage a complex and varied workload. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in implementing and troubleshooting these technologies: Meraki SD-WAN, Cisco ACI, Meraki Wireless, Palo Alto Firewall, Cloud, and on-premise data centre solutions. Our Engineers work closely with colleagues in all positions, so communication and interpersonal skills are critical for this role. We expect deep expertise in one or two areas and baseline skills and knowledge across a wide range of IT technologies. You will have relevant professional certifications and experience to demonstrate your capabilities and fit for the role.

What We Offer: At Camden, you’ll receive a host of benefits. From flexible working to 27 days annual leave (+ bank holidays!). We also know that a work life balance is extremely important so we also offer family leave, loan schemes and access to our incredible staff networks. We also have an incredible pensions scheme.

Inclusion and Diversity: We want Camden Council to be a great place to work and to ensure that our communities are represented across our workforce. A vital part of this is ensuring we are a truly inclusive organisation that encourages diversity in all respects, including diversity of thinking. We particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian and those of Other Ethnicities, LGBT+, disabled and neurodiverse communities to make a real difference to our residents so that equalities and justice remains at the heart of everything we do.

Anonymised Application: In keeping with Camden’s commitment to inclusion the recruitment to this role is anonymised and supports the objective of reducing the impact of unconscious bias.

Asking for Adjustments: Camden is committed to making our recruitment practices barrier-free and as accessible as possible for everyone. This includes making adjustments or changes for disabled people, neurodiverse people or people with long-term health conditions.
