What You’ll Be Doing / How You’ll Be Involved
As a Social Worker in our Children Looked After (CLA) service, you’ll be part of an integrated, multidisciplinary team including our Virtual School, specialist health services and CAMHS provision. This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You’ll:
- Manage a diverse caseload involving care planning, court work and supporting vulnerable adolescents
- Undertake high-quality assessments and develop effective care plans
- Deliver creative interventions that promote positive outcomes for children in care
- Work closely with partners across education, health and other services
- Contribute to a learning culture within the team and support less experienced colleagues
You’ll play a key role in ensuring services meet the needs of Camden’s diverse community, while working within statutory frameworks and best practice guidelines.
All About You
We’re looking for a passionate and skilled social worker who is committed to improving outcomes for children and young people. You will have:
- A recognised social work qualification and registration with Social Work England
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, particularly the Children Act 1989 and frameworks for children in care
- Experience managing complex cases, including care proceedings and court work
- The ability to assess risk, develop and review care plans effectively
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A good understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable children and families
You’ll also be a collaborative team player, confident in working across services and committed to continuous learning and development.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS. Please note Camden also offers the DBS update service.
