About Camden
Camden is changing on the inside to make life better for everyone. Our residents and communities are at the heart of everything we do. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today and we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind.
What You’ll Be Doing / How You’ll Be Involved
Camden’s Housing Services are committed to working alongside residents and communities to deliver safe, secure and sustainable housing while improving social equality across the borough. As an Income Officer, you will provide a person-centred housing income service that supports residents to sustain their tenancies through early intervention, prevention and tailored support. The role involves managing rent accounts, responding to customer enquiries, taking payments and working with residents to prevent arrears from escalating, while progressing legal action where necessary, including court attendance and evictions. This is an opportunity to make a real difference within local communities by helping residents access support and maintain stable housing, while working as part of a collaborative and community-focused service. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.
All About You
You will be passionate about making Camden a fairer and more inclusive place where everyone has access to a safe, secure and warm home. We are looking for someone who takes a proactive and caring approach, acting early to support residents, prevent problems from escalating and help people access the services they need. You will be confident communicating with people from a wide range of backgrounds, able to build trust, listen with empathy and adapt your approach to meet individual needs. Working collaboratively comes naturally to you and you value joined-up working with colleagues, partners and residents to improve outcomes and strengthen communities. You will also be comfortable using housing systems and digital tools, with an understanding of housing legislation, safeguarding responsibilities and the importance of delivering accessible, high-quality services that put residents at the heart of every decision.
