We’re looking for a committed and experienced professional to lead our statutory housing review function and help drive improvement across our housing services.
The Role
As the Housing Needs Review & Improvement Manager you will lead Camden’s housing review service, overseeing statutory reviews and legal challenges under Parts 6 and 7 of the Housing Act 1996. You will represent the Council in court, liaise with legal teams, and ensure decisions are legally robust and compliant.
This is a strategic leadership role. You will manage and develop a team of review officers, champion service improvement, and shape policy in response to legal precedent and resident feedback. You will work closely with legal services, housing teams, elected members, and the ombudsman. You\’ll also lead on data analysis, training, and quality assurance, using insights to strengthen delivery across the housing service.
About You
You bring substantial experience in housing, homelessness, or legal services, with strong knowledge of Parts 6 and 7 of the Housing Act and related case law. You understand administrative law, safeguarding, and housing allocations. You have proven leadership experience, including managing staff, guiding performance, and improving service standards.
You are confident representing the Council in legal proceedings, producing high quality written decisions, and training others on good practice. You are a collaborative, resident-focused professional with a passion for equity, inclusion, and better housing outcomes.
