About Camden

At Camden, we’re building somewhere everyone can thrive. We’re committed to making our borough a place where no one is left behind, and where children and young people are supported to reach their full potential. Our Children’s Services are rated Outstanding by Ofsted, with a strong commitment to relational and anti-racist practice. You’ll be joining a forward-thinking organisation with clear leadership and a genuine focus on impact.

About the Role

Do you want to transform the lives of young people leaving care and help them build a future they can be proud of? We’re looking for a passionate and experienced leader to develop and lead Camden’s new House Project—an innovative programme supporting young people in care and care leavers to gain independence, secure their own homes, and thrive in education, employment and training. This is a unique opportunity to build and shape a service from the ground up, before leading it into long-term success.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the design, development and delivery of the House Project
  • Support young people to prepare for independence and secure sustainable tenancies
  • Manage and develop a small, dedicated team of facilitators
  • Deliver high-quality assessment, planning and support for care experienced young people
  • Work closely with partners across social care, housing and education
  • Create a culture of high support, high challenge and positive outcomes

You will also work in close partnership with our care experience teams to ensure a joined-up, holistic approach. The role combines both strategic and operational responsibilities, building and sustaining strong partnerships with key stakeholders. Working within the fidelity of the National House Project framework, you will collaborate closely with the charity to ensure that young people’s individual needs are met through relational, strengths-based practice that promotes interdependence. You’ll have the chance to make a real difference—supporting young people to move into adulthood with confidence, stability and opportunity.

All About You

You’re a motivated and experienced professional who is passionate about improving outcomes for care experienced young people. You will bring:

  • A relevant Social Work qualification and Social Work England registration
  • Strong experience of managing projects in complex environments
  • Experience working within Children’s Services or similar settings
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work relationally with young people and collaboratively with professionals.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • The ability to design, deliver and evaluate impactful services
  • Skilled in undertaking holistic assessments and safeguarding young people effectively.
  • Comfortable working in a varied role, including participation in group activities and residential trips.

You’re someone who can think strategically while delivering operationally—able to solve problems, influence others and drive meaningful change.

Additional information

  • You may be required to work some evenings and occasional weekends
  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS check
  • The post holder will line manage 2 House Project Facilitators

What We Offer

At Camden, you’ll receive a host of benefits including:

  • 27 days annual leave for new starters, rising to 31 days after 5 years
  • Local Government Pension Scheme
  • Flexible working opportunities
  • Interest free loans
  • Access to our incredible staff networks
  • Career development and training
  • Wellbeing support and activities
