What You’ll Be Doing / How You’ll Be Involved

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Finance Business Partner to join the Adult Social Care Finance team, specifically supporting delivery of outcomes as it relates to North London Equipment Partnership, supporting delivery of high-quality financial management and strategic advice within a large, complex local authority environment. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will provide expert financial support, challenge, and insight to help drive sound decision-making, value for money, and effective use of public resources.

The post holder will act as a trusted finance business partner to service leads and budget holders, building strong working relationships and providing timely, high-quality financial advice to support effective decision-making. You will play a key role in influencing and challenging stakeholders to ensure resources are used efficiently and in line with strategic priorities.

You will be responsible for providing accurate and insightful financial analysis, forecasting and reporting, supporting budget setting, budget monitoring and year-end processes. This will include identifying financial risks and opportunities and recommending practical actions to manage pressures and deliver value for money. The role will also require you to ensure compliance with financial regulations, policies and best practice, while contributing to continuous improvement in financial management processes.

You will support projects and service initiatives with robust financial input and work collaboratively across the North London Equipment Partnership and wider local authority finance teams. The role is a part time post. 0.5 FTE and supports flexible working arrangements.

As a business partner you will champion the business partner model, be a visible and approachable point of contact for budget holders and promote collaborative working relationships. This post will require a Standard DBS.

All About You

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, the successful candidate must be AAT qualified, be currently studying towards a CCAB or equivalent professional qualification or be part-qualified CCAB (or equivalent). You will be able to interpret and analyse financial data effectively, applying appropriate logic and professional judgement to support informed decision-making. You will also have previous experience of understanding and interpreting complex legislative and regulatory frameworks, particularly those applicable to local government, and be confident working within these environments.

The post holder will demonstrate a strong analytical eye and have proven experience in budget monitoring, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, producing high-quality financial reporting, and providing effective financial support to projects and service areas.
