What You’ll Be Doing

Join Camden’s dynamic Legal Services team, where you’ll play a critical role in breaking down barriers while embracing a risk‑aware approach. You’ll engage with senior officers and Members to offer high‑quality legal services, with a focus on social justice. Collaborate closely with various service directorates to ensure efficient delivery of Council priorities, all while managing a personal caseload that includes high‑profile and complex cases. Become a trusted advisor, advocate, and problem‑solver as you contribute to Camden’s vision of innovative, responsive legal solutions.

All About You

We’re looking for a qualified Solicitor, Barrister, Chartered or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives with the right to conduct litigation with experience in Children’s Social Care. You should possess a robust understanding of local government law, and have hands‑on experience in preparing cases and drafting legal documents. Your professional confidence will shine through as you lead on challenging cases and provide high‑level advice. With excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit, you’re ready to engage with our clients and stakeholders. Your proactive nature and creative mindset will help shape the future of legal services in Camden. You should have experience conducting care proceedings cases, including providing advice, attending PLO meetings, and undertaking advocacy. You should also have experience with other types of litigation related to children. Additionally, you must be capable of providing detailed advice to clients about all aspects of childcare law, with a focus on safeguarding children and understanding local authority duties regarding their well‑being.
