What You’ll Be Doing

To work with the Fire Safety Officer and the wider Housing team to deliver Camden's fire door inspection programme across the Council's residential housing portfolio.

The post holder will undertake inspections of communal fire doors within residential blocks, ensuring compliance with fire safety legislation, regulatory requirements and industry standards. They will identify defects, raise and monitor remedial works, undertake post-inspections, and maintain accurate records to support resident safety and building compliance.

The role will support the effective delivery of Camden's fire safety objectives, ensuring operational KPIs are achieved while providing a professional, customer-focused service to residents and stakeholders.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Basic DBS.

All About You

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Fire Door Inspector who is passionate about improving resident safety and maintaining high standards of building compliance. You'll have experience inspecting fire doors within residential settings and a good understanding of fire safety legislation, passive fire protection, and industry best practice. You will be confident identifying defects, recommending remedial actions, and maintaining accurate inspection records using digital systems. Strong communication skills are important, as you'll work closely with residents, contractors, and colleagues across Housing Services to ensure works are delivered effectively. Above all, you'll be organised, customer-focused, and committed to helping Camden meet its fire safety responsibilities while delivering an excellent service to residents.
