Oaklands Primary Academy is seeking to appoint an experienced and highly effective Year 5 Class Teacher to join our dedicated and ambitious team. This is an exciting opportunity for a strong classroom practitioner who is passionate about delivering high-quality teaching and securing excellent outcomes for pupils. We are looking for a teacher with high expectations, excellent subject knowledge and a proven ability to inspire, challenge and motivate learners as they prepare for the transition into Upper Key Stage 2. The successful candidate will join a supportive and collaborative staff team committed to ensuring every child achieves their full potential, both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities- Deliver consistently high-quality teaching
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that challenge and inspire all learners
- Use assessment effectively to identify next steps, secure strong pupil progress and raise attainment
- Maintain high expectations of behaviour, achievement and presentation
- Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to drive standards and contribute to whole‑school improvement
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and the wider school community
- Contribute to the wider life and ethos of the school
- Proven experience of successful teaching within Key Stage 2
- Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and effective teaching strategies
- A track record of securing strong pupil outcomes
- Strong understanding of inclusive teaching and meeting the needs of all learners, including those with SEND
- High expectations for pupil achievement and behaviour
- Ability to inspire, motivate and challenge learners
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to continuous professional development
