Bromley is committed to making children and young people in the Borough its top priority and is seeking highly talented and ambitious qualified social work Team Managers to join our journey to excellence.
About the Role
This role is within the Referral and Assessment Service. The Referral and Assessment Teams receive all new referrals from the Bromley MASH and undertake Child and Family assessments to determine how best children’s needs can be met. There are seven teams, each consisting of a team manager and five social workers. Teams go on duty for one week every seven weeks; during their duty week social workers receive new allocations. Referral and Assessment Team Managers oversee approximately 50 families at any given time. Bromley has made a huge investment in staff to ensure social workers have lower caseloads. Referral and Assessment Social Workers carry an average of eight families, enabling them to deliver high‑quality interventions.
As part of the Bromley Promise, there will be a dedicated two‑week induction programme upon joining. You will manage a small team of five Social Workers/Senior Practitioners. Senior managers provide accessible support and you will have dedicated time for quality and reflective 1‑1 supervision. Bromley works in a relationship‑based practice framework and seeks a social worker passionate about working with children and families, able to build good relationships with families and professionals to effect positive change. We are confident that with your support, we will continue to provide high‑quality social care services to children in Bromley as set out in our improvement and transformation plan. In return, we ask that you bring your passion, dedication and skills to us.
