Practice Lead

Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing Service Commences in September 2026. Bromley Y is a long-established charity based in Bromley that values the voices of Children, Young People (CYP), their families (parents) and/or carers as well as partner agencies. We are an early help Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing Service based on the principles of iThrive.

About the Role

Bromley Y seeks two highly motivated and enthusiastic practice and management supervisors to work within our service. The post holders will have considerable experience of supervising and managing therapists and practitioners in Children’s Mental Health services. They will have an ability to work effectively within a team, demonstrate strong leadership skills, and be an organised individual who can work creatively to develop and manage the day‑to‑day operation of the service.

Across the two posts the postholders will have varied duties including:

• Managing and supervising practitioners
• Allocating caseloads
• Coordinating assessment processes
• Managing risk processes
• Auditing cases
• Coordinating multi-disciplinary consultation meetings
• Coordinating group interventions

Key opportunities will exist to work strategically within the partnership in Bromley as necessary. The post holder will have a small caseload to maintain skills and accreditation with professional bodies, will work with people from various cultural backgrounds and ages, and will typically use interpreters when necessary. A commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion is required.

Key responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage therapists and practitioners in a Children’s Mental Health setting
• Allocate caseloads and coordinate assessment and risk processes
• Audit cases and facilitate multi‑disciplinary consultation meetings
• Coordinate group interventions and develop day‑to‑day operational strategy

Core Qualifications:

• Considerable experience of and skills in working therapeutically with children, young people and their families
• Considerable experience in management and practice supervision
• Demonstrable ability to lead people
• Knowledge of Bromley’s children, young people and families (parents/carers)
• Accreditation with a professional body (BACP, BABCP, UKCP)
• A core professional qualification (e.g. clinical psychology, social work, counselling, mental‑health nursing)
• Understanding of safeguarding issues relating to children and young people
• Experience of multi‑agency working and liaising across internal and external agencies
• Eligibility to work in the UK (no sponsorship provided)

Salary and Working Conditions:

• Salary banding: £44,554 – £51,980 per annum (dependent on experience)
• Working pattern: 5 days with occasional Saturday work as required
• Working hours: 37.5 hours per week (5 days a week)
• Contract: Permanent
• Location: Hybrid model – working remotely and at Ethelbert Road
