Permanent Senior Practitioner – Salary: £46,952 to £55,749 per annum. £2,000 Golden Hello bonus and £2,000 Annual Retention Allowance.
Location: Bromley Civic Centre / flexible working. Hours: full time – 36 hours per week.
Seeking a Senior Practitioner to join our Permanency team at Bromley. The role involves assessing, training, supporting, and supervising foster carers, kinship carers and supported lodgings hosts in line with the relevant Regulations, National Minimum Standards and good practice. Bromley is committed to making children and young people in the Borough its top priority, and has achieved Outstanding social work practice following our recent Ofsted Inspection.
About The Team
The successful candidate will join a warm, friendly and enthusiastic team that is dedicated to making a difference to the lives of children and families in our borough.
Responsibilities
- Undertake a range of assessment work, including Connected Persons, Special Guardianship, Form F and Non‐Agency assessments.
- Provide Supervising Social Work support to temporarily approved carers.
- Conduct home visits, attend in‐person meetings and events, and complete office‐based work.
Key Requirements / Qualifications
- Possess a professional qualification such as a Degree, Masters, C.Q.S.W. or Dip. Social Work.
- Be registered with Social Work England or able to obtain registration prior to commencement of employment.
- Have appropriate post‐qualification experience with children and family placements, fostering, and kinship care.
- Demonstrate a genuine respect for families, a belief in the benefits of life‐long learning, and knowledge of family issues.
- Be approachable, enthusiastic, and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Have excellent organisational skills and the ability to work in partnership with agencies to achieve positive outcomes for families.
- Be proficient in IT software and able to maintain accurate records.
- Hold an enhanced Disclosure, Barring Service check and a degree or equivalent qualification in Social Care.
