Overview

Early Intervention and Family Support Services – Bromley Children Project, Children and Family Centre Support Worker. Salary scale: BR4; £25,522 - £25,703. Permanent post; full-time, 36hrs per week. This is a public facing role working in our Children and Family Centres and does not support working from home. This is not a key worker role; you will not be allocated families to support on a one-to-one basis. The post is about supporting the running of six Children and Family Centres. There are occasional Saturday morning sessions which are notified in advance, but predominantly this is Monday to Friday work.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the smooth running of the six Children and Family Centres/Family Hubs across various locations and staff teams.
  • Work on-site daily and support a busy, customer-facing environment with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Support staff in providing information on local services available to parents and children, balancing the needs of service users with local authority requirements.
  • Be flexible to cover a centre without other colleagues on site when required and contribute ideas to improve the service.
  • Work effectively within a team and share ideas to enhance service delivery; basic administration and IT knowledge are required.
  • Participate in a competitive selection process including assessment of application statements, interview performance and tests covering skills and knowledge in the person specification.
  • Any other duties as reasonably required to support the running of the centres.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Experience of working in a customer-facing environment and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Good local knowledge of services available to support parents and their children; ability to work flexibly and balance service user needs with local authority needs.
  • Confidence to cover a centre without other colleagues onsite when needed.
  • Ability to work well within a team and support others in service improvement.
  • Basic knowledge of administration and IT.
  • A satisfactory enhanced DBS check is required.

Additional information

  • On-site requirement: This is not a virtual role; the post holder will be required on site daily.
  • All appointments will be offered at the minimum salary point for the grade unless matching current salary with evidential proof.
  • The successful candidate will require a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
