A warm, enthusiastic person with strong communication, interpersonal, and IT skills is required for this demanding busy post. This job requires the postholder to be in the Children and Family Centres daily – working from home is not an option.
Key responsibilities include:
- The day‑to‑day smooth running of one of the local authority’s six Children and Family Centres, and supporting the remaining five centres on an ad‑hoc basis.
- Acting as the face of the centre for local families and partner agencies, engaging in the community and networking with local services.
- Managing a small, targeted caseload, a team of staff, and ensuring the site is open to the public daily.
- Responding flexibly to changing demands, taking the lead in the absence of senior staff.
The successful candidate will have experience of working in a customer‑facing environment, be able to work effectively under pressure, and place the service user at the centre of the situation. They will work well within a team, have positive thinking and communication skills, and be able to think and work in a positive way whether with colleagues or the public.
