The Post:

The main purpose of the Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) teacher role at Furness Primary School is to deliver a high-quality MFL (Spanish) curriculum to pupils across the school. The aim is:

  • To provide Spanish lessons for whole classes and support the school in attending extra- curricular Spanish events out of school hours and providing after-school Spanish activities for groups of pupils.
  • Work as part of the curriculum team under the leadership of the Curriculum Lead and will be MFL Subject Lead

The Person:

Our ideal candidate:

  • Must have a strong passion for education.
  • Must be experienced and have a strong working knowledge of teaching Spanish across all phases.
  • Must have high expectations of behaviour and achievement.
  • Must have strong and effective classroom management skills.
  • Must possess the ability to work as part of a team, with a flexible attitude and a calm, organised work ethic.
  • Must have experience and understanding of organising, promoting and evaluating the children’s learning.
  • Must be able to deliver well planned, well considered and motivational lessons, with experience of motivating and managing young children effectively.
  • Must be able to accurately record pupil progress.
  • Must possess strong communication skills, appropriate to communicating effectively with staff, parents and children.
