This post in the housing department at the London Borough of Bexley offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team that plays a key role in preventing homelessness. The incumbent will manage the Triage and Prevention Service, guiding the delivery of housing options, pathways, and outcomes for those facing homelessness.
Responsibilities
- Inspire, motivate, and manage a team responsible for determining available housing options and pathways for resolving threats of homelessness.
- Ensure professional day‑to‑day leadership and management of the effective delivery of the council’s triage and prevention service.
- Maintain accurate written records, reports, and decision letters in accordance with Part V11 Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Act 2002, HRA 2017, and the Code of Guidance.
- Keep the team and yourself up to date with legislative and case‑law developments by attending training and reading relevant updates.
- Prepare and maintain a management‑information database that supports service improvement.
- Work in a hybrid model, balancing home work and office attendance at Civic Offices.
Candidate Profile
- In‑depth knowledge of Part V11 Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Act 2002, HRA 2017, and the Code of Guidance.
- Experience in homeless service delivery and statutory duties under homelessness legislation.
- Strong leadership and team‑management skills with a proven track record.
- Excellent written communication skills and the ability to produce accurate records.
- Ability to work flexibly, using a hybrid model of home and office.
