As a Project Manager in our Major Works & Capital Projects team, you will play a vital role in delivering projects that support community growth and sustainable development. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to oversee a dynamic portfolio of construction projects. From initial project planning and procurement through to delivery and completion, you'll ensure that every project is delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
Working with a range of stakeholders, you'll address technical and regulatory challenges while maintaining clear communication and collaboration across council departments, stakeholders, contractors, and the local community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and deliver construction projects, ensuring compliance with RICS standards and achieving high-quality project delivery.
- Interpret data from stock condition surveys to support the planning and delivery of individual capital projects.
- Integrate project methodologies with established systems, tailored to RIBA, RICS, and other procurement and delivery frameworks.
- Prepare and negotiate terms and conditions for engaging consultants and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with current health and safety legislation, property compliance, and regulatory responsibilities.
- Utilise advanced IT systems, including project management tools such as MS Project, Excel, and Word.
- Manage contractor performance to ensure project milestones are met and quality standards are maintained.
- Produce clear and concise reports, providing actionable recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to achieve favourable terms while maintaining service quality.
- Build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, effectively communicating technical information.
- Identify and implement innovative solutions to address project challenges.
