Bexley is a borough shaped by strong communities and high quality services, with exciting plans to support future growth and the evolving needs of our residents. Our new Economic Growth Strategy will set a clear direction for a thriving, sustainable and well-connected borough that continues to attract investment and deliver excellent outcomes. Our Future Bexley transformation programme is building a more agile, innovative and outcome-driven organisation that can meet changing resident expectations while enabling the borough’s continued success.
Within this context, we have a fantastic opportunity for an accomplished and ambitious individual to join us as our new Monitoring Officer and Deputy Director of Legal & Democratic Services. This is a pivotal leadership role where you can help shape how a modern council operates. You will strengthen our governance culture, enabling innovation and ensuring that new ideas, new ways of working and new partnerships are underpinned by strong, confident decision making.
We are looking for a forward-thinking local government legal professional who can do far more than offer advice: someone who can influence organisational thinking, anticipate emerging challenges, and help senior leaders navigate complex change. You will bring strategic insight and the ability to design governance that supports transformation, encourages creativity and protects the interests of our residents.
As part of the Corporate Leadership Team, you will be a visible, trusted and influential leader - shaping how the organisation evolves, supporting our economic growth ambitions, and ensuring we continue to deliver excellent, resident-focused services.
