In Bexley we are passionate about early intervention, innovation and multi‑agency working. The Educational Psychology team works closely with specialist teaching services and other professionals and is led by a Principal Educational Psychologist and a strong Senior Educational Psychologist team. We have an established team of Assistant Psychologists who, together with our EPs, deliver early intervention programmes to early years and school settings. The service is highly valued by schools and by colleagues in health and social care, which promotes high quality partnership working and joint project initiatives. We are committed to continually improving the quality of our assessment, training and systemic project‑based interventions. High priority is given to induction, supervision, reflective practice and continuous professional development.

This is a full‑time permanent position, and we also welcome applications for part‑time permanent or fixed‑term positions, as well as trainees who will qualify in 2026 or 2027.

Due to an increase in demand for the service, we are seeking an innovative HCPC registered Educational Psychologist to take up a full‑time fixed‑term Maingrade post. We warmly welcome applications from trainee Educational Psychologists in their final year of training. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to making a difference for children and young people, their parents, carers and educational staff.

Qualifications

All candidates must hold a good Honours degree in Psychology with a postgraduate qualification at Masters or Doctorate level recognised by the Health Care Professionals Council and the British Psychological Society as constituting clinical training for an Educational Psychologist. Appointment to this post will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
