About the Role

To ensure that the Council, its activities, services and policies are communicated with external and internal audiences, including the media, in the best possible light, using a range of communications channels and marketing techniques designed to deliver the best results and value for money.

Candidate Profile

Are you able to work as part of a busy Communications and Marketing Team to plan communications activities, implement them to agreed targets and goals, and evaluate their success? You would need –

  1. To take the lead for communications on agreed areas, issues or policies, liaising effectively with senior managers and elected Members as directed by the Communications Manager.
  2. Provide a high-quality media relations service, producing high-quality texts, articles, news releases, and other written materials.
  3. Make full use of the Council’s website and other online communications channels, including social media, to communicate effectively with the widest possible audiences and to ensure that the Council’s messages are promoted online.
  4. To be able to undertake specified duties and tasks linked to the Communications and Marketing Team.
