The Learning & Enterprise College Bexley is an adult education college delivering high‑quality outcomes for learners, residents and employers. We are expanding our team of teaching assistants to provide access to learning for learners with complex learning needs, including autism, other learning disorders and PMLD, associated with an EHCP. The role is based at our Sensory Pathways provision on the Belvedere site (DA17 5PP).
Key Responsibilities
- Enable access to learning for learners with complex learning needs.
- Provide personal care tasks including intimate care and feeding.
- Use hoists and other specialist equipment to safely lift and move learners.
- Support daily personal care expectations for staff within this provision.
Candidate Profile
- Good communicator who can provide practical and administrative support to enable learners to achieve outcomes.
- Experience working with children, young people or adults with complex needs, including autism.
- Willingness to develop skills and support learners.
Requirements
- Experience supporting personal care tasks is essential.
- A minimum of Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent) is required.
- Experience in an adult education setting with an awareness of dyslexia, autism spectrum, ADHD etc. is an advantage.
