As a Fire & Building Safety Surveyor, you will conduct detailed surveys of properties managed by the Council, contributing to a comprehensive database and providing expert advice on fire safety and compliance. Your role ensures that fire risk assessments are completed accurately and on time, maintaining the highest standards for all properties and meeting all statutory and regulatory requirements. You will deliver exceptional service to staff, residents, leaseholders, managing agencies, and property owners.

- Ensure specifications meet current legislative standards.
- Obtain quotations and estimates following procurement procedures.
- Maintain high standards of communication and customer care with all stakeholders.
- Monitor and report on performance to ensure work is within budget and value for money is achieved.
- Identify and suggest improvements to procedures, processes, and quality control.
- Provide advice on construction and building matters, including desktop reviews of new development drawings and specifications.
- Monitor contractor and consultant performance, providing reports to the Fire and Building Safety Lead.
- Conduct post-inspection quality checks and ensure satisfactory completion of works.
- Perform H&S spot checks and ensure contractor compliance with Health & Safety risk assessments and method statements.
- Manage complaints, taking ownership and providing written responses as required.
- Keep accurate records of site progress, variations, snagging, and health and safety.
- Update systems on job progress and record customer contacts, complaints, actions, and learning points on CRM.
- Regularly inspect sites to ensure compliance with quality controls, contract conditions, legislation, and defect-free standards.
