About this job

Provide general administrative/clerical support and direct support to the Legal Service as directed by the Senior Business Support Officer. Ensure the provision of an efficient, timely, and responsive administrative support service to Legal Practice. Maintain an effective balance between your study and work time.

Special requirements for this post:

  • A minimum of 5 GCSE’s (Grade 5-9) including Maths and English.
  • Good standard of written and spoken English, and numeracy.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Our apprenticeships are aimed at local residents of the borough of Barking and Dagenham Council with priority given to care leavers if the minimum criteria set out in the job details and person specification is met.

About you

  • To develop and maintain a system for monitoring court deadlines and procedures.
  • To maintain and update case schedules, contact lists, spreadsheets, and other legal information systems.
  • To be a first point of contact for callers/visitors to the Legal Practice if and as required.
  • Monitor and maintain stationery resources and liaise with other officers.
  • Open and close matter files using manual or electronic case management systems.
  • Create and maintain Legal Practice files and records both electronically and manually.
  • Assist with land and property information, deeds, and documents held on Council systems.
