We are looking to recruit 1 CCTV Operations Supervisor to manage the CCTV Team which consists of 9 CCTV Monitoring Officers working a 24/7 rota shift. Officers would be required to proactively operate and monitor the Council's Close Circuit Television (CCTV) System in line with the Code of Practice to detect crime, anti-social behaviour and bye-law contraventions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Following the instructions detailed in the Procedures Manual for recording and reporting incidents to the emergency services, internal departments or relevant partner agencies.
  • Monitoring and responding in accordance with written instructions the Council’s Lone Worker, secure roof management and intruder, fire and panic alarms systems.
  • Proactively monitoring the CCTV cameras to identify any criminal activity, anti-social behaviour or unsafe activity.
  • Carrying out reviews of recordings as requested by authorised individuals, making still, video or digital copies as required while maintaining the evidence trail and completing the relevant paperwork.
  • Reporting any faults and CCTV or associated equipment defects in accordance with the Fault Report procedure.
  • Centrally controlling and monitoring the Council and Police radio receiving and transmission equipment as required to pass and receive clear and accurate information.

Special requirements for this post: The role is based in London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, you would be required to work from Barking Town Hall and work a rota which consists of shifts covering a 24/7 shift pattern.
