Company Description

London Black Women’s Project (LBWP) is a ‘by and for’ charity dedicated to supporting and empowering Black and minoritised, i.e. Global Majority women and children who have experienced violence and abuse. Based in London, LBWP provides specialised services including emergency refuge accommodation and support, legal advice, counselling and advocacy to enable individuals to rebuild their lives and achieve independence. Working at LBWP means being part of a committed team that drives change and amplifies marginalised voices to create a fairer, more inclusive society.

Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role at London Black Women's Project, primarily based in London, with opportunities for some remote working. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading cross-functional teams
  • Managing budgets
  • Building partnerships
  • Monitoring programme effectiveness
  • Driving policy and practice improvements within the organisation
  • Engaging with stakeholders and funders
  • Representing LBWP at local and regional forums

Salary: £52,000 per annum

Key Person Specification Requirements

  • Significant senior management experience within the voluntary, community, or public sector, within refuges or other accommodation-based services
  • Proven experience of simultaneously managing complex, multi-programme delivery for vulnerable adults and their children
  • Good understanding of specialist domestic violence and abuse services that support the specific needs of Global Majority women and their children
  • Experience in managing and supporting line managers and multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience in managing project budgets, reviewing management accounts and identifying issues with internal systems
  • Excellent people management, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build effective partnerships and represent the organisation

Specific Requirement

Due to the nature of the work and focus of LBWP, the organisation considers the candidates’ race and sex to be an occupational requirement in accordance with Paragraph 1, Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010. This post is only open to Black and minoritised, i.e. Global Majority women. We are not able to sponsor any work permit or visa.
