Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Pump Technician role based in London. The Pump Technician will install, service, and repair below-ground pumping systems for residential and commercial clients, ensuring efficient and safe operation. Daily responsibilities include performing routine maintenance, diagnosing faults, replacing faulty components, and responding to emergency breakdowns as part of a 24-hour service rota. The role also involves completing service reports, following health and safety guidelines, and communicating clearly with customers about work carried out and any recommended follow-up actions. The Pump Technician will work closely with other team members and management to maintain high service standards and support continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, with experience working on pumps, motors, or similar mechanical systems.
• Ability to diagnose faults, interpret technical information, and use hand tools, test equipment, and basic diagnostic tools safely and effectively.
• Knowledge of plumbing or drainage systems and an understanding of relevant health and safety practices for on-site work.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with clients and colleagues, including clear written documentation of service and repair activities.
• Capacity to work independently, manage time well, and adapt to emergency call-outs and varying site conditions.
• Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel across London for on-site appointments.
• Previous experience as a pump technician, field service engineer, or similar role is highly beneficial.
• Relevant technical or vocational qualifications in mechanical, electrical, or plumbing disciplines are an advantage.
• PAYE basic salary of £43,000 per annum plus OTE.
