Contract Type: 1x 12 months Fixed Term Contracts/secondment, Full time, 40 hours per week
Salary: £41,207 per annum - You will be provided with an L&Q van for business use only.
Grade: DM Tech 05
Reporting Office: River House, Sidcup, DA14 - You will only have to attend this office twice a month.
Working Location: All regions of London and outskirts. Your starting location will be from your home address.
Persona: Mobile/Field Based Worker: Contractual hours to be worked from various locations such as resident home, estates etc, with ad hoc office attendance as required.
Working Pattern: 8am - 5pm, Monday-Friday

Interview Dates: 24th/27th July 2026 - Face to Face Interviews/Practical Assessments to be held at our River House, Sidcup Depot.

To comply with the fire safety regulations 2022 made it a legal requirement to carry out annual inspections on all fire doors from 23 January 2023 on multi occupied residential buildings over 11 meters height. You will report to the Fire safety supervisor and carry out works as instructed while meeting L&Q's corporate targets of financial strength.
A company vehicle will be provided for business use only, PDA fuel card, Uniform, PPE and parking paid will all be provided. It is essential to have a valid UK Manual Licence to carry out this role.
Your impact in the role:
- You will need a good knowledge of fire door maintenance.
- The fire door maintenance operative will evaluate fire doors for correct installation, maintenance and repair.
- Inspections will involve carrying out minor repairs and frame manipulation where necessary and clearly documenting your findings using a PDA.
What you'll bring:
- Specialist Knowledge/experience of Hanging Fire Doors and fire door sets and second fix carpentry and fire door maintenance.
- Working knowledge and understanding of the building/maintenance trades environment Job related Health & Safety.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to plan and manage time effectively ensuring delivery of work within specified timescales.
- Ability to assess customer needs and to meet quality standards for service with a focus on delivering high standards of customer/resident satisfaction.
