Persona: Mobile/Field Based Worker

Contractual hours to be worked from various locations such as resident home, estates etc, with ad hoc office attendance as required.

Working Pattern: 8 to 4 Monday to Friday. Call outs per rota basis.

Join our Electrical Team at L&Q:

L&Q are looking for a qualified Electrician to join the in-house Maintenance team based in our reactive repairs service in the North West, covering our Manchester patch. This is a rewarding and exciting opportunity to make a difference to our residents' lives and lead the way in delivering a customer-centred service.

Our Electricians are responsible for ensuring that all they do is with our residents' satisfaction and best interests in mind. As an L&Q employee, you will ensure that you demonstrate our values consistently. This role is on the front-line delivering service and has a direct impact on L&Q’s reputation; the focus will be high-quality work and on first-time fix approach.

We are focused on meeting targets, both financial and customer-related, working to time frames and making sure that jobs per day are completed on time and within cost. The team must have a firm knowledge and ability to actively contribute to ensuring that the Direct Maintenance teams KPIs are met.

Your impact in the role:

We are looking for experienced individuals with a good working knowledge in building and/or housing environment, particularly within social housing or local authority experience of working within domestic and/or commercial Electrician role. You will have a good knowledge, understanding and experience of Inspection & testing of electrical installations, including good ability to fault find. As well as a customer service focus, candidates will have a good understanding of the Health and Safety requirements and will act with resident safety in mind.

What you'll bring:

  • To be considered for this role it is essential you hold qualifications within one of the following qualification routes:
    • NVQ Level 3 Electrotechnical Apprenticeship or equivalent (must include AM2 where required by the EAS Qualifications Guide)
    • Technical or Craft Qualifications (must include AM2 where required)
    • Experienced Worker Qualification (Maintenance/Installation Electrician) (must include AM2 where required)
  • Plus Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations (BS7671:2018)

Please note, it would be desirable (not essential) if you hold the following qualification:

  • Level 3 Award in the Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certification of in-service Electrical Installations (QCF) or equivalent

To be considered for this role, candidates will be able to demonstrate and/or have:

  • Maintenance experience preferably gained within Social Housing or a similar environment.
  • Excellent customer service with proven track record in delivering service to internal and external customers.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety.
  • Ability to work in a pressured environment under strict time constraints.
  • Experience with completing electrical certification, including periodic inspections & testing.
  • Full driving licence.
